Statement on the advertisement of the FDP Hennef in the Stadtecho of September 12, 2025: Under the headline “We have a dream!”, the FDP Hennef describes how the sports school, its sponsors and the city can join hands and jointly operate the Hennef Sports School and expand it into a Hennef Sports Center. The following comments on this:

1. The publication and the idea described therein have not been coordinated with us.
2. The sports school, its sponsor and the town of Hennef do not need to shake hands, they have been working together closely and trustingly for decades, also in the interests of the people of Hennef. Present examples of this are not only the sports school’s indoor swimming pool, but also the involvement of clubs and organizations from the region as part of the open day.
3. We recently celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Hennef Sports School and to date have been able to continue operating in its current form and also take regional interests into account – we will continue to do so without the need for a party to name us in advertisements and present potential business models without being asked.

Finally, we wish all democratic parties and their candidates every success in the upcoming local elections and hope that as many citizens as possible will exercise their right to vote, which is still the envy of people from too many countries.
