“Dialogue on sports development – connecting ideas”: NRW state sports association meets at the Hennef Sports School
On May 29 and 30, 2026, the two-day conference “Dialogue Sports Development – Connecting Ideas” of the North Rhine-Westphalia State Sports Association took place at the Hennef Sports School. Several representatives from sports associations, clubs, institutions and foundations came together to discuss current challenges and future topics in sports development.
As host, the Hennef Sports School provided its modern conference rooms, sports halls and overnight accommodation. The catering, from the welcome breakfast and lunch to the joint barbecue evening, was also organized by the sports school team.
Diverse program with strong impulses
The program offered a wide range of content:
- Keynotes on the strategic goals of the DOSB and modern association communication
- Workshops on mental health, experiences of depression, volunteer recruitment, network structures and social media
- Exercise programs such as walking football, yoga and prevention training
- Open exchange formats for associations and clubs
The Robert Enke Foundation, the Football Association of the Middle Rhine, the Football and Athletics Association of Westphalia, the German Olympic Sports Confederation and numerous district and city sports associations were among those represented. The conference showed once again how important spaces for encounters, dialog and joint learning are. The Hennef Sports School is delighted to be able to support this process and would like to thank the Landessportbund NRW for its trust.
